Quick Answer
An ISO 9001 Lead Auditor plans, coordinates, and leads quality management system (QMS) audits against the ISO 9001:2015 standard β including managing the audit team, conducting opening and closing meetings, gathering objective evidence, classifying nonconformances, and writing audit reports. This is distinct from an Internal Auditor, who audits only within their own organisation: Lead Auditors can conduct second- and third-party audits across multiple organisations and sites, and are qualified to make certification-readiness determinations. Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditors earn $75,000β$110,000 USD annually globally, with GCC markets (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar) paying a premium due to Vision 2030 supply-chain compliance requirements. Delivered by Mentor Tech as an official GAQM channel partner, the programme covers 10 modules including ISO 9001:2015 requirements, audit programme management, evidence-gathering techniques, nonconformity classification, and corrective action follow-up. The exam consists of 150 questions in 180 minutes with a 75% passing threshold and lifetime certification validity.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
The ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification from GAQM qualifies you to plan, lead, and manage quality management system (QMS) audits against the ISO 9001:2015 standard. A Lead Auditor differs from an Internal Auditor in scope and authority: Lead Auditors coordinate multi-site audit programmes, manage audit teams, lead opening and closing meetings, and make certification-readiness determinations. ISO 9001 is the world's most widely adopted management system standard, with over one million active certificates in 170 countries. Certified Lead Auditors typically earn $75,000β$110,000 USD globally, with strong demand in GCC organisations pursuing ISO 9001 certification for government contracting and international supply-chain compliance.
